How To Take Staff Photos We Can Work With
You do not need equipment. You need light on the face and a steady phone. Here is exactly what we tell every dealership before they start shooting.
- It does not matter what the staff member is wearing. We are not judging wardrobe — clothing, logos and uniforms can all be handled in the optimization.
- Face lighting is the one thing that matters most. Soft, even light on the face wins every time — face a window or stand in open shade.
- Avoid harsh overhead showroom lights and direct midday sun; they create dark eye sockets and hard shadows under the nose and chin.
- Do not shoot with a bright window or bright sky directly behind the person — that turns the face into a silhouette.
- Get reasonably close: head and shoulders, or head to mid-chest, with the eyes in the upper third of the frame.
- Have the person look straight into the camera lens, chin slightly forward and down, with a natural expression.
- Hold the phone at the subject’s eye level — not above or below — and keep the camera steady so the eyes are sharp.
- Any plain-ish background works. We replace or clean up the background anyway.
- Send the largest original file you have. Do not screenshot, crop, or run photos through a filter first.
- One clear photo per person is enough, but two or three options never hurt.
